Baby Steps

Savanna has decided that she wants to master this walking thing we're all doing. So she insists that we (mostly I) dedicate our fingers to her use as she wanders from one corner to the next practicing her walking. If you are indisposed as to offer your fingers at that moment, she will first call at you eh-eh-nay-nay-eh.... making sure she has your full attention and that her full intentions are known--then if you still do not immediately begin the walk, she starts clamoring to get your fingers herself. She will pull your arm down, your hand down, and get your fingers. Now if she gets your fingers and you don't move with her (she will pull to lift you up if you're sitting--also steers you like my dad does his trick kites at the ocean) she throws a huge tantrum, usually resulting in her bonking her head and causing then even more screaming. BUT...she is getting better. Yesterday she decided she only needs one hand and is toddling around. It won't be long and she will be walking on her own (my back is shouting hooray!). My baby girl is growing up--I can't believe next month she'll be a year old already!!

Keith is taking his own baby steps right now--baby steps through the piles of homework and final projects looming in the not so distant future. He picked up a 3 credit block class (which he says is the equivalent of having a 6 credit class since it's so doubled up for the block) which has added just enough extra to do to keep him at school a few extra hours and days each week (well we've only had one week of it, but he was at school all day Friday and Saturday and unless he was grading he usually didn't have to go to school those days before). We're headed out to Hannibal to check out houses on Thursday so he's trying really hard to get through it all before we leave this week. The good/bad news is that there are only like five weeks of classes after this! Eek!!

We had beautiful weather yesterday (in the mid 60's) and so we went and spent an hour and a half at a park. Alex found a friend and they played together for the last 45 minutes we were there. They were hiding in trees, doing somersaults, climbing toys, and just running. It was so nice to be outside without coats and getting some fresh air and exercise.

All the newer pictures are on Keith's laptop so I'll have to post some of those later. Wish us luck finding a rental in Hannibal!!
