Flu, Flu, Go Away!!!!!

Thursday night at around 11 pm Alex started to scream in his crib. Keith went in to see what was wrong and he had thrown up, luckily it was all on his sheets and was easily contained and cleaned up, while that was being done and after we got Alex changed, I was trying to get him back to sleep. Not long after it seemed he was starting to drift, he shifted positions and then puked all over me...not fun! So we went and got cleaned up from that and decided that this must be more than happenstance. We moved his mattress into the bathroom and sat with him as he had his first experience with the flu. We took turns staying near his side as we tried to keep him directing his bile into a bowl and not onto one of us. It was a long night, but by about 5 am he actually slept for the next two hours. He was feeling much better in the morning and except for the fact that he now eats worse than a bird, he's been up and running ever since. Unfortunately, Keith got it starting Saturday night--he convalesced most of the day today and is now feeling much better. I am praying that it passes me by unscathed.

In other news, one of the things that Alex loves to do these days it to find Jesus in our little paperback "Book of Mormon"--the kind with the pictures in the front. He is so cute--one day he had taken the book out of his room and came out to the livingroom with it and clear as a bell said, "Where is Jesus?". And then yesterday we were at Keith's sister's house and I had put aside a puzzle Alex wanted to do over and over, and same thing, clear as could be he asked, "Where did it go?". Usually his words are more mumbles and babbling still, but it's exciting to hear the prospects of actual clear speach!

Keith has been keeping busy...or being kept busy...by school. He is really enjoying his classes and the group that he works with, but there is always SO MUCH to do. Lots of information sessions with companies telling about themselves and trying to sell their company so you'll apply to their internships. The tables are turning now as in the next couple of weeks, Keith will find out if he's been chosen to interview and sell himself back to a couple of these companies! Wish us luck!

  1. Hi Lisa! Looks like you are in the throws of Motherhood. AKA sick with babies, writing on the walls, life is great isn't it? :) Hope all is well in P-town.

  2. Brennan kept his vomit in his crib, but Jaden got his bed, my bed, and the floor in various places. Jane was able to take care of my little ones for the most part, while I got better. The flu was like the fast and the furious.
