Last night we had the Elders over for dinner--Alex didn't want to join us at the table, in part because he had just opened a present with a fun toy inside, partly because he doesn't like to eat when the missionaries are over for some reason, especially when we have new ones. Anyway after we had finished dinner, Keith had encouraged Alex to come and eat, now that the table was vacated of missionaries. We had had some beef stew and he didn't like the sight of it, telling Keith that he didn't like it. Like a good dad, Keith told him that he wouldn't truly know if he liked it or not unless he tried it and then offered a, "it could be the most incredible thing you've ever eaten" statement to really entice him...well Keith came back into the living room to join the discussion we were having and a few minutes later we hear from the dining room, "It really was incredible, Dad!!" from Alex.
Some other fun quotes lately:
Alex: It makes my belly laugh!!
Savanna: But I really really want to.
Alex: But it would make me so happy! (when asking to do something and having been told no)
Savanna: Abby HIT me! Don't hit Abby! (Too close to her flailing arms)
Alex: Her name isn't Abigail, Mom! It's Abby!!!
Alex: What would happen if we drove off that hill and went flying up into the air?
What would happen if we put a toy in the microwave?
What would happen if someone didn't have a transformer? (He just got a transformer for his birthday and he's been quite intrigued by it all).
There's plenty more I'm sure, we sure love our entertaining little kids!
