It's been another busy set of weeks. Keith participated in the 2nd Annual Night of the Running Dead Zombie 5K. He survived!! (If running as a zombie you can survive...since you're already dead? :) The kids did fine with him being all zombified--Alex told him to go wash his face and got him a towel. We did end up locking the keys in the car (whoops!) so the whole trip was a bit longer than anticipated. Thankfully we have roadside assistance, right?

That next week we headed off to visit the plant out in Hannibal, MO where we'll be living come May of next year, after Keith graduates. The kids did great on the plane (thank goodness for portable DVD players--our flight left at 7am, so we went up to Salt Lake the night before and stayed in a hotel using a voucher for a free night that was about to expire. It was so great to only have to get up at 5am :) Alex was so funny on the plane--he would lean over and lay his head on Keith's lap and then pop back up--he hates admitting that he's tired enough to need a nap! The longest part of the trip was waiting for our rental car. We had to be shuttled over to their office and then had to wait about an hour to get through the line. Maybe not the best timing to fly in during the world series--there was a bit of a shortage on cars. People were getting into cars just out of the car wash/detail from having just been dropped off. Alex kept busy pulling the suitcase around, telling everyone it was his backpack. He did get distracted from that for a little bit when he decided to pick up trash (yucky, gross, I need to throw it in the garbage!) They held out though and we made it! They slept the two hour drive up to Hannibal from St. Louis. After we got checked in we met the HR Manager for dinner at a fancy restaurant up in Quincy IL. No, Alex did not stay in his seat. Yes, he did get out and start driving his car around the booths. It had been a long day of sitting. I don't really blame him!!
The next day Keith spent the WHOLE day at the plant meeting different people from the leadership team. I went out with a couple of the wives for brunch and play downtown. I took the kids to this gorgeous little park. It had awesome lookout points over the river, with all trees turning fall hues, it was a nice little reprieve from the hotel room! Saturday we went on a town tour with a realtor to get a feel for the neighborhoods and the rentals that might come available. We wandered around on our own after that for a bit, looking closer and just exploring.
Keith has been in Nashville TN doing a case competition. He didn't win :( but it was a 'good learning experience' I barely saw him the two days we were home before he headed out and he will be back tonight just before midnight. We're excited to have him back. I am not cut out to be a single mother!! We got to do all the Halloween parties by ourselves which is a shame since they are Keith's favorite. Alex is really enjoying this magical "trick-or-treat" trick! Our ward's Trunk-or-Treat was tonight and after we had made the rounds and got back to our own car to hand out treats he circled the car coming around again and again to me to pick another treat out of the bowl. He was VERY disappointed that he didn't get to eat it all when he got home.
We're hoping November turns out to be a bit calmer of a month than October was!
Savanna is now scooting forward for things. She reaches as far as she can then she gets her bum up and her knees kind of under her and pushes with her toes until she can reach whatever was just beyond it! It's so cute, but is such a reminder of how much she is growing up! She'll be crawling full blown before I know it! Alex better watch out then--no toy will be safe!

FHE--carving pumpkins! Keith had about 15 minutes to spare, so we ran out and quickly carved up the pumpkin. Alex just wanted to cut yarn, and Savanna hung out on her blanket, but it was fun!
