It's the Final Semester!!

It's official. Keith started his FINAL SEMESTER today. He has a pretty light schedule for the first block (through the end of Feb), which we're looking forward to. It will be nice to have him home a bit more. I've gotten spoiled these past two weeks having him on break. Alex really enjoyed having him around all the time and was a bit sad today when after a few hours Keith still wasn't back. After dinner, Alex went over and just cuddled on Keith's lap, giving him hugs and just sitting with him. It was really cute, especially considering how rare an occurrence something like that is for Alex. He's usually too busy for cuddles.

We had a great break, we went out to Reno to visit with Keith's family. They were, as always, excellent hosts. It was cute to see Alex and his cousin Jaden (about 10 months older) play together almost non-stop. As soon as we walked in the door they were looking for each other. I do think our time was just long enough for them, as the final days things weren't being shared as freely, and they had a few little fights (including a yelling match about, "he's MY daddy!!!" "No!! He's MY daddy!!!" which of course the dad's thought was quite cute.

Savanna and Alex have been quite unsettled in their sleeping habits of late. Alex has been having a hard time going to bed, crying and wanting us to stay with him. Also, waking up crying and wanting someone to stay with him until he goes back to sleep (which usually takes a bit). We think he's been having some bad dreams and having a hard time shaking them. Savanna has gotten quite adept at standing up in her crib, which she does as soon as she starts waking up at all. This leads to a battle to get her to go back to sleep. As soon as you lay her down, she's getting back up before you have finished setting her down. Keith is more patient about it than I am, so I'm sad he's back in school and can't stay up half the night battling kids with me anymore. (Don't worry, he still gets a quarter of the night) :)

It is hard to believe how quickly the time has gone by in the program. We have less than four months and we'll be heading off to Missouri. As we were discussing goals for the new year, we (mostly I, Keith still set a few goals for himself) decided that surviving the upcoming transitions might be enough to keep us quite occupied this year.

(Apparently the flash died on our camera, so most of our Christmas pictures turned out quite black).
Cheesy grin!! We get this face a lot while she's eating!

Here's to an exciting new set of adventures!!
