The Jones'

So this is going to be a bit of a random post, it is mostly just things that have been amusing us lately that we want to remember someday down the road.

Savanna is cruising along things, and crawling on her hands and knees now. She pulls up on everything and pulls down everything. She has started throwing little tantrums, especially if you take something out of her mouth (like paper and small objects)-she arches back and yells, also if she is starting to get upset about something will scrunch up her face and breathe in and out her nose really quickly. It is so funny! She is also quite amused lately with putting things in MY mouth--she laughs and laughs. She has been laughing a lot more lately it seems. She also will play peek-a-boo type games sometimes. We were at the doctors for her 9mo check up and she had a soft square block with a hole in the middle. I noticed that she was peeking up through the hole at me, and when she would catch my eye, she would pull it down and laugh! It was so cute! She is healthy and doing well--height and weight is around the 20th percentile, her head is in the upper 80th. Good thing it's such a cute head!

Alex loves to tickle her (inept as he is, she usually is amused at his antics enough to laugh, which perpetuates the tickling), sing her songs, and give her hugs and kisses. Alex continues to make us laugh with his discovery of the world and words in it. He was helping me make pancakes the other morning and noticed the bubbles popping as they cooked. He then commented that the pancakes were pooping. No, not popping, but pooping. Thank you Alex, for that wonderful description of breakfast.

Alex is really into saying the prayer, it usually goes like this. "Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, Jesus Christ, Amen. Then after he fell Friday and bonked his head and we said a prayer to help him calm down and feel better, it has since also included, "and I bonked my head, and it made me sad. I'm sad 'cause I bonked my head..." As we try to help him include other things, he'll often go on tangents about his thoughts on those things or just other things that come to mind--or that he is still fixated on from something earlier said, like bonking his head. We try to maintain reverence, but sometimes it is hard to not laugh at the cuteness of it all.

Keith is taking a class titled Work and Family--and spouses get to come! We spouses, have organized babysitting (the professor has access to babysitters through some other class he teaches), so we get to be kid free for a couple hours once a week and learn together about how to create a harmonious work/family family/work relationship. It has been great for introducing things to talk about together and to make plans for the future as things get busier, much busier!!
