It was so nice to have a long weekend again with Keith home Monday for the 4th. Saturday we went shopping for a convertible car seat for Alex, he's getting close to the limits of his infant carrier. Keith and I are glad that this marks (hopefully) the end of searching, researching, trying on of baby equipment for a long time. We figure with this new carseat we should be set for the next child, we can use his baby carrier, stroller, crib, etc. It always seems like such a long process of finding just the right one at the right price. We tried to go up to my Aunt's house to watch fireworks but the road was closed before we could make it through the traffic. So we turned around, rented a movie and enjoyed a night at home. We went outside and could see plenty of the fireworks from our backyard. It was good because Alex was in bed on time, which has been something we've been working on since June was such a busy month and he got mixed up on his schedule too often! We also had a playdate with a friends daughter. Alex kept trying to give her hugs...a few more than she wanted!
Sunday we went to Keith's Aunt's house where a ton of his extended family was visiting. We had a great time catching up with them. We went for a walk to a park near a creek, Alex had SO much fun!
Monday we went to Scera pool...Alex actually had a ton of fun! He loved the little kid water slide they had and wandering around. He even liked the 'lazy river'--we enjoyed following him around and seeing him enjoying the water! We also went to the dollar theater and saw Clash of the Titans, then went and got ice cream afterwards. Alex LOVES ice cream!! Just like his daddy!! We even got to sleep in a little bit--thanks Alex!! :)
And we picked some stuff from our garden!! Hooray!!
